CAMERON PARK, Calif. — El Dorado County Treasurer-Tax Collector Sean M. Coppola is inviting local residents to a community meet & greet event on Monday, Feb. 16, from 4–7 p.m. at Moonraker Millhouse in Cameron Park. The gathering is designed to give voters an informal opportunity to talk one-on-one with the county’s chief fiscal officer about county financial policies, tax administration and his vision for the office as the June 2026 election approaches.

“Community starts with conversation,” the event announcement states, encouraging attendees to “come by, grab a drink, and talk about the future of El Dorado County.” The invitation underscores Coppola’s focus on accessibility and public engagement in a role that touches everything from property tax billing to business licensing.

Coppola currently serves as El Dorado County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector after being appointed by the county Board of Supervisors on Dec. 2, 2025, with his appointment effective Dec. 27, 2025. The Board’s action filled the charter office vacated by Karen Coleman, who retired, allowing Coppola to serve through the end of the current term on Jan. 2, 2027.

Before his appointment, Coppola spent two years in training for the role and earned the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) credential in July 2024. His responsibilities include overseeing the county’s banking and investment functions and managing the collection of property, business and transient occupancy taxes — duties outlined on the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s official department page.

As the filing period is open for the June 2026 ballot, Coppola may choose to run for a full four-year term. If he does, the meet & greet serves not just as a chance for residents to raise concerns but also for the Treasurer-Tax Collector to outline his goals around financial stewardship and taxpayer service.

Local voters and taxpayers are encouraged to attend, meet Coppola in person and bring questions about county fiscal policies. Scheduled discussions may range from property tax administration to investment strategies that affect county revenue streams.
