(April 6, 2025) — PLACERVILLE, Calif. — An explosion in a residential garage on Saturday afternoon startled Placerville residents and prompted a swift response from emergency services. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on the 500 block of Cedar Ravine Road. Firefighters and police arrived promptly to find the garage engulfed in flames, which were rapidly spreading to the main residence.​

Fire crews from the El Dorado County Fire Protection District managed to contain the blaze within an hour, preventing further damage to neighboring properties. No injuries were reported, and the occupants of the home were safely evacuated. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, with authorities considering all possible factors.​
