This event aims to provide valuable insights into enhancing the safety and security of places of worship. The symposium will commence with opening remarks by Sheriff Jeff Leikauf, followed by presentations on various critical topics, including Behavior Threat Assessment, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Cyber Security, Vulnerability Assessment, and a Shooting Debrief of the First Baptist Church in Texas.
Esteemed presenters include representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Central California Intelligence Center (CCIC), Stephen Willeford—the responder to the Texas church shooting—and Sal Cortez, President of the International School of Tactical Medicine.
The symposium is open to all, including security team members, religious leaders, and individuals interested in safeguarding sacred spaces. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts and network with peers dedicated to creating safer environments for worship. A variety of food trucks will be available on-site for meal purchases.
Given the increasing concerns about security in places of worship, this symposium offers timely and pertinent information. The event is free to attend, but registration is required. For more details and to register, please visit the Eventbrite page.
