STATELINE, Nev. – A 31-year-old man from Pomona, California, died after falling from the 20th floor of Harveys Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to reports of the incident near the casino’s valet entrance at approximately 2:46 p.m. The individual, identified as Daniel Tovar, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:50 p.m.
According to authorities, Tovar had arrived in Stateline earlier that day on an Amtrak bus from Los Angeles. Sheriff Dan Coverley stated, “We are confident this was a suicide.”
The DCSO is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tovar’s death. No further details have been released at this time.
