Shingle Springs (March 3, 2024) – In a somber incident near Folsom Lake on Friday afternoon, a 68-year-old driver lost his life after colliding with a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The unfortunate victim, identified as a resident of Shingle Springs, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The fatal crash occurred on northbound Auburn Folsom Road, in the vicinity of Woodchase Drive, around 3:50 p.m. om March 1. CHP officers reported that the driver left the roadway, leading to the collision with the tree, which proved to be fatal.
