The highway patrol stayed busy in the western end of the county. A suspected drunk driver was arrested in Greenstone shortly after 1 a.m. Another motorist was booked after a hit-and-run collision at Latrobe Road and Town Center Boulevard, with DUI charges added to the case. Late Saturday night, CHP deputies made a third DUI arrest along westbound Highway 50 near Silva Valley. Three separate alcohol-related driving arrests were recorded in the area over the course of the day. The arrests came as weekend traffic moved through the county’s busiest commuter corridors. No major injuries were reported in the booking summaries. All suspects were booked into custody pending court proceedings. The night ended with another reminder that impaired driving remains a recurring problem on county roads.
CAMERON PARK / RESCUE
A felony vandalism arrest led the local reports from Service Drive. Deputies booked Vincente Sanchez Castaneda on suspicion of felony vandalism and violating post-release community supervision. At nearby Penela Way, deputies uncovered what appears to be the day’s largest property crime case. Two suspects were arrested in connection with burglary, conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle allegations. Investigators also listed burglary tools, drug possession and obstruction-related charges among the accusations. Combined bail in the Penela Way arrests exceeded $278,000. The investigation remains active. Both suspects remained in custody following booking.
PLACERVILLE AREA
Deputies responded to Five Mile Road where a domestic violence investigation resulted in felony corporal injury and false imprisonment charges against Alexis Marie Krell. Later in the day, another arrest on Green Valley Road involved alleged drug possession, paraphernalia possession and a felony probation violation. Both cases resulted in jail bookings. Bail was set at $55,000 in the domestic violence case. The probation violation case carried no listed bail. Deputies continued processing evidence through the afternoon. Both incidents remain before the courts. The arrests added to a steady Saturday workload for patrol deputies.
FOLSOM LAKE / BROWNS RAVINE
One of the most serious arrests of the day occurred at Browns Ravine. Kevin Deshawn Barrow was booked on felony domestic violence and concealed weapon allegations, along with disorderly conduct and fighting charges. Authorities set bail at $50,000. The arrest followed a disturbance investigation in the recreation area. Additional details were not released in the booking log. Deputies transported the suspect to jail without incident. The case now moves into the court system. The charges remain allegations pending adjudication.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
South Lake Tahoe police booked Nathaniel Evan Calhoun on a felony stalking charge Saturday morning. Later in the day, officers arrested Justin Gordon King on suspicion of public intoxication. The stalking case represents one of the more serious allegations in the day’s bookings. Both arrests originated within city limits. No bail amount was listed in either booking. The investigations remain ongoing. Court appearances are expected in the coming days. Both suspects remained in custody at booking.
HIGHWAY 50 CORRIDOR
A separate DUI arrest was reported on westbound Highway 50 east of Carson. CHP booked Justin Damon Seufert on misdemeanor driving-under-the-influence charges. The arrest added to a string of alcohol-related enforcement actions recorded throughout the county Saturday. Highway patrol officers accounted for four DUI-related bookings during the reporting period. Weekend traffic enforcement remained active across the corridor. No collision details accompanied the booking report. The suspect was booked and released to the court process. The case remains pending.
MOST SERIOUS ARRESTS SPOTLIGHT
1. Penela Way Burglary Investigation
Brandi Leigh Jackson and Sequaelea Aiylea Olavet were arrested on allegations including burglary, conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle. Combined bail exceeded $278,000.
2. Browns Ravine Domestic Violence Case
