By Cris Alarcon, InEDC Writer. (March 28, 2025) — Placerville, Calif. — El Dorado High School sophomore Erin Levinson has been recognized for her original poem, “Metaphors,” in the 2025 Poetry Ourselves competition, a component of the California Poetry Out Loud program.

Poetry Ourselves invites county champions from the Poetry Out Loud recitation contest to submit original written works for evaluation. Levinson’s poem earned her the top spot in this creative writing segment, highlighting her literary talent beyond recitation. ​
