PLACERVILLE — A tribute banquet honoring military veterans and first responders — and supporting statewide conservation work — is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, in Placerville, organizers announced.

The event is hosted by the California Waterfowl Association and will take place at American Legion Post 119, located at 4561 Greenstone Road. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m. The program runs until approximately 9 p.m.

El Dorado County Sheriff Jeff Leikauf is expected to attend and participate in the tribute program recognizing service members and first responders from across the region.

According to event materials released by organizers, proceeds will remain in California and support wetlands protection, hunting heritage programs and local advocacy efforts tied to waterfowl conservation.

“This banquet brings together conservation supporters and the public to recognize those who serve while investing in California habitat,” organizers said in the event announcement.

Ticket and Table Options

Individual tickets and tiered sponsor tables are available, ranging from $50 to $3,000. Table packages include meals, memberships, raffle tickets and reserved seating. Higher-tier sponsor packages also include promotional items and special-entry drawings tied to the event.

Listed table packages include:

  • Sponsor Table — $3,000: Dinner and gifts for eight, sponsor memberships, premium raffle allocations, reserved front seating and specialty drawing entries.

  • Patriot Table — $1,000: Dinner and memberships for eight, raffle ticket bundles and reserved seating.

  • Stars & Stripes Table — $650: Dinner and memberships for eight, plus raffle entries and table-only drawing access.

Registration and Contact

Organizer information lists Erik Peterson as the event contact. Donations and mailed responses may be sent to a Placerville address provided in the event notice. Direct inquiries and contribution questions are being handled through the published event phone and email contacts.

Organizers say the evening is designed to be both ceremonial and practical — pairing public recognition of service with fundraising for ongoing conservation work across California.
