Residents across El Dorado County will soon have two opportunities to connect with local nonprofit organizations as Philanthropy On Tap returns this June with events planned for both the Western Slope and the Tahoe Basin.

Hosted by the El Dorado Community Foundation, the free community events are designed to bring together nonprofit leaders, donors, volunteers, and residents in an informal networking environment centered around local philanthropy and community impact.

This year’s Philanthropy On Tap series will feature short-form presentations from nonprofit organizations serving El Dorado County. Participating groups will have between 60 and 90 seconds to introduce their mission, explain current programs, and describe their most pressing needs to an audience that includes community foundation donors, nonprofit peers, and members of the public.

“As with last year, we will have undercover judges in the audience scoring different aspects of each presentation,” organizers said in an event announcement. “The organization with the highest overall score will win $500.”

The events are also intended to encourage collaboration between organizations while giving residents a firsthand look at the range of services and programs operating throughout the county.

Following the presentations, attendees will have an opportunity to mingle and network while enjoying beverages from local breweries. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, with light snacks provided by the foundation.

The Western Slope event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jack Russell Farm Brewery.

The Tahoe event will follow on Thursday, June 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Hangar Lake Tahoe.

Organizers noted that parking at the Tahoe location is limited and encouraged attendees to bike or carpool when possible.

Community members are not required to register for either event and may attend free of charge. However, nonprofit organizations interested in presenting must register in advance, as presentation space is limited.

Additional information and nonprofit registration details are available through El Dorado Community Foundation.

For local nonprofits, the events offer more than exposure. They provide an opportunity to directly engage with potential supporters and demonstrate the impact many organizations are making across El Dorado County communities.
