Vehicle Crashes Into Building at Cameron Park Shopping Center
CAMERON PARK, Calif. — A vehicle went into a building at the Burke Junction shopping center on Coach Lane Wednesday afternoon, prompting an evacuation and a response from local emergency crews. The business was the hairdresser at Studio A2.
A 90-year-old driver crashed into a building at a Cameron Park shopping center Wednesday afternoon, striking a 78-year-old woman inside, officials said.
The Amador-El Dorado Unit’s Cameron Park Fire Department responded to the incident and found a vehicle had entered the building.
Occupants were evacuated as firefighters and other responding agencies assessed the structure and worked to identify and address hazards created by the crash.
According to information released by the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, one person was transported to a nearby medical facility for evaluation. No additional information about the person’s condition was immediately available.
“Firefighters worked with other responding agencies to assess the building and address any hazards at the scene,” the Amador-El Dorado Unit reported.
The incident occurred at Burke Junction, a shopping center along Coach Lane serving the Cameron Park community.
Fire crews focused on making the scene safe and evaluating the building following the impact. The available information did not indicate whether the building sustained structural damage or provide details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
No additional injuries were reported in the information released by CAL FIRE.
