El Dorado County Sheriff Arrests

Jail Ledger: Domestic Calls, Drug Rides and Broadway Violators Fill the Cells

Three felony domestic violence arrests led the El Dorado County bookings Wednesday, with two suspects hauled in by South Lake Tahoe Police and another picked up in Placerville. Julian Acostacruz was booked after a late-night call on Woodridge Court in Placerville, accused of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or partner with bail set at $50,000. Gerald Joseph Leal Jr. was stopped on Lo Hi Way in Placerville and booked on suspicion of drug possession, being under the influence and driving impaired by narcotics after a CHP arrest. On Broadway, James Allen Drake was locked up for an alleged felony probation violation, while Jeffrey Michael Ellsworth was taken in on a felony parole violation hold out of CDCR. Both Broadway arrests carried no bail. Deputies and officers across the county logged a steady stream of felony holds, domestic calls and narcotics-related offenses through the day. Most of the action clustered around Placerville and South Lake Tahoe, where patrol units answered violent disturbance calls before sunrise and into the afternoon. By nightfall, the county jail roster read like an old crime desk ticker — domestic beefs, parole trouble, drug busts and terror threats stacked line by line across the booking sheet.
