Pollock Pines, Calif. (April 24, 2025) — El Dorado County is advancing plans to revitalize Forebay Park in Pollock Pines, following discussions at the Economic Development Commission meeting on April 22. The proposed enhancements aim to transform the 16.9-acre park into a more inclusive and accessible community space.CEQAnet

The initial phase of the project includes installing senior fitness equipment, completing restroom facilities, and improving parking infrastructure. While the development of a dog park is not part of the first phase, community members have expressed strong support for its inclusion in future stages. Board members acknowledged the importance of these enhancements, emphasizing that even partial improvements would significantly benefit the community. CitizenPortal.ai – for Informed Citizens

Board members noted that maintaining the momentum of these improvements is crucial to securing additional funding and grants. CitizenPortal.ai – for Informed Citizens

Forebay Park, acquired by the county in 2014 from the El Dorado Irrigation District, has long served as a vital recreational space for local residents. The park currently features a lodge with a working kitchen and two ADA-compliant restrooms, professional horseshoe pits, and a baseball field maintained by Snowline Little League. El Dorado Countycedapp.biz

Public comments during the meeting reflected a deep-rooted connection to Forebay Park, with residents advocating for its preservation and enhancement. The board is now tasked with refining the project plans and exploring funding options to ensure that the park continues to serve as a cherished community resource.

As the county moves forward, the emphasis remains on collaboration with community members to create a park that meets the needs of all residents, ensuring that Forebay Park remains a vibrant hub for recreation and social interaction in Pollock Pines.
