NASCAR Legends to Visit Pollock Pines During 30th Anniversary Charity Ride

POLLOCK PINES, Calif. — A stretch of Pony Express Trail will briefly become a hub for NASCAR fans when the 30th Anniversary Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America makes a scheduled stop in Pollock Pines on Friday, May 1, 2026.

Organizers say the group will arrive at approximately 11 a.m. at the Fresh Pond Chevron, where riders will remain for about 45 minutes, offering fans a rare opportunity to meet some of racing’s most recognizable figures.

Among those expected to appear are Kyle Petty and his father, Richard Petty, along with a roster of current and former drivers and sports personalities. The cross-country ride, which begins in Sonoma, spans roughly 3,400 miles across 11 states before concluding in Charlotte.

“This is a unique opportunity for fans in El Dorado County to meet legends of the sport up close,”

organizers said in a public statement, noting the stop is part of a long-running effort to raise funds for Victory Junction, a camp supporting children with serious illnesses.

Star-Studded Lineup Expected

The 2026 anniversary ride features a wide range of notable participants, including:

  • Matt Kenseth, NASCAR Hall of Famer
  • Clint Bowyer
  • Ken Schrader
  • Kenny Wallace
  • David Ragan
  • Max Papis

Additional appearances are expected from sports and media figures such as Herschel Walker, JR Hildebrand, Rick Allen, and Rutledge Wood.

What Fans Should Know

Due to the tight schedule, organizers emphasize efficiency and courtesy during the brief stop. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and come prepared.

Event guidelines recommend limiting autograph requests to two items per person to ensure broad access during the limited appearance window.

The ride traditionally operates on a precise timeline, meaning arrival and departure times may shift slightly depending on road conditions.

For Pollock Pines and surrounding El Dorado County communities, the stop represents more than a celebrity appearance—it’s part of a nationally recognized charitable effort with a 30-year legacy. Events like this often draw visitors from across the region, providing a short-term boost to local visibility and community engagement.
